Selfridges’ 2025 sale started on the morning of 23 December, three days before Boxing Day, at up to 50% off. At 05:22 its site showed only “Seasonal reductions”; by 11:16 it showed “Sale: up to 50% off”. All four stores then opened at 9am on Boxing Day. Selfridges had not announced a 2026 sale when this page was updated on 16 October 2026.

Is Selfridges open on Boxing Day?

Yes, in 2025. All four stores opened on Friday 26 December and closed on Christmas Day:

The sale started early and went deeper

Selfridges’ sale was already running for three days by Boxing Day 2025. Shoppers who waited until 26 December were buying from a sale that had been open since 23 December. The headline then rose from up to 50% to up to 60% off by 2 January 2026.

Beauty was the exception. Its sale was capped at up to 30% off, lower than the rest of the store. Its beauty sale page said there was no refund or exchange on toiletries, cosmetics and fragrance, so be sure before buying a beauty gift in the sale. In-store sale purchases cannot be refunded

This is the term most likely to catch a Selfridges sale shopper. Selfridges’ returns terms, checked on 27 September 2026, say that sale or clearance items bought in store can be returned within 14 days for an exchange or a gift card only. You cannot get your money back for a change of mind.

Online orders follow a different process. You arrange the return within 14 days of delivery or collection, then send the item within a further 14 days. Product and brand exceptions apply, and Klarna orders cannot be returned in store. Selfridges’ 2025 Christmas extension, to 2 January 2026, covered purchases made before 19 December, so it did not cover the sale.

If you might change your mind, buy online rather than in store. These are change-of-mind terms; your rights for faulty goods are separate.

Delivery and collection

Standard UK delivery was free over £150 in 2025, and technology had its own charges. Selfridges’ UK delivery information warned that orders may take longer during the sale.

Click & Collect is free at all four stores, according to the published instructions. Orders placed by 10pm can be collected from 12pm the next day and are held for 7 days. Selfridges does not run a price-match scheme.

Compare the exact designer item
