Stratford City listed 11am to 6pm (captured 3 Dec). Trafford was not checked for 2025, and most captures are from early December, so hours could have changed later.

Sale dates: keep 2025 separate

The official John Lewis 2025 Winter Sale guide states an online start at 5pm on 24 December 2025 and a nationwide in-store start on 27 December. The source was checked on 27 September 2026; it still describes the 2025 event. It does not confirm a 2026 launch or branch opening time.

Check whether a price match applies

Check Never Knowingly Undersold before relying on it. John Lewis reinstated the policy. It currently covers 25 named competitors and John Lewis’s own price drops within seven days of the order, subject to identical-item, stock and promotion exclusions. Read the live policy for the product you intend to buy.

The Never Knowingly Undersold terms, checked on 27 September 2026, exclude third-party marketplace sellers and several offer types, including clearance, member prices and voucher-code prices. Apple and Amazon comparisons have additional conditions. Compare the full model, size, colour and included accessories, then read the applicable exclusions before counting a possible refund.

Compare the terms you need

For electricals, read the guarantee on the specific listing and compare the covered faults, duration, registration requirements and service route. Do not assume a two-year term is longer than every manufacturer’s cover.

For a washing machine, fridge-freezer or dishwasher, include installation and removal charges in the total. The John Lewis major-appliance guide explains the service comparison. For fragrance or a beauty tool, match the bottle size, concentration or model and attachments; the John Lewis beauty guide covers those checks.

For bedding and clothing, compare material, dimensions or size and the return conditions. A brand name or a large markdown does not establish better quality than a specific alternative.

Consider delivery lead times. If you need something by a specific date, use the estimate shown at checkout and compare collection availability. Do not infer a delivery date from a previous sale period.

What happened in 2025

Direct John Lewis product captures recorded a Swaledale Pillowtop 6250 king mattress at £1,679.20 from £2,099, a Zip Front Puffer Jacket at £39.50 from an original £79, and a Dyson Supersonic r hair dryer at £399 from £449 on 29–30 December 2025. These are individual observed products, not a retailer-wide discount range.
