Before comparing a Boxing Day console price, check the edition. Microsoft lists the Xbox Series X in two 1TB editions, one with a disc drive and one All-Digital, and Sony’s PS5 Pro package has no disc drive, which is sold separately; both manufacturer references are cited in the table below and were checked on 4 October 2026. This guide has no verified 2026 prices, discount ranges or retailer rankings. A console bundle is useful only when the included games and accessories are things you want.
Retailers to compare first
Argos said its 2025 winter sale began on 17 December, with up to 50% off selected lines until 15 January. What it covered, and how to order and collect.
Amazon UK's homepage showed no Boxing Day sale on 24 or 26 December 2025, only device and tech deals. How to judge Amazon prices for 2026.
Currys deals were live online by 6:14am on Boxing Day 2025, with stores open from 9am. Real 2025 TV and laptop prices, price promise and returns.

How to compare these products
This list does not confirm current offers. Before buying, compare:
- The exact model, product condition and seller
- The total cost, including delivery and any required fees
- Recent prices for the same model, rather than the advertised discount alone
- Delivery, returns and guarantee terms, including any membership conditions
Match the hardware and games
| Purchase | Check before comparing prices |
|---|---|
| Console | Exact version, storage, disc support, condition and included controller |
| Game | Platform, edition, physical disc or download, and whether extras require the base game |
| Digital code | Account region, activation conditions, seller and refund rules |
| Subscription | Tier, duration, eligibility, renewal price and any conversion conditions |
| Headset or controller | Compatibility with the console or PC and the features you need |
A disc-capable console and a digital-only model are different purchases. Compare how you expect to obtain and use games, including an existing collection. Neither is automatically the cheaper long-term choice for every buyer.
For gaming laptops, use the laptop guide to compare the full configuration. For headphones used with a console, check supported connections, microphone behaviour and latency for that setup; a music-headphone recommendation does not establish gaming compatibility.
Which type of gaming purchase fits the recipient?
The named products solve different needs. Check the games the recipient actually wants, the hardware they already own and whether physical discs matter before choosing a bundle. The manufacturer references below were checked on 4 October 2026; they do not verify a retailer’s stock or future price.
| Named hardware | Decision it helps you make |
|---|---|
| PS5 disc model or PS5 Pro | Sony’s PS5 Pro package specification lists a 2TB console without a disc drive. The drive is sold separately and needs internet pairing at setup. Someone keeping disc games must include a compatible drive in the Pro budget or compare a package that already contains one. |
| Xbox Series X | Microsoft’s Series X model comparison distinguishes 1TB Carbon Black with a disc drive from 1TB Robot White All-Digital. “Series X” alone does not tell you whether a particular listing can use discs. Match storage and edition. |
| Steam Deck OLED | Valve’s OLED hardware specifications distinguish 512GB and 1TB versions. For portable PC gaming, check each wanted game’s Deck compatibility rating: Playable can need manual adjustments, while Unknown means it has not yet been assessed. Do not assume every Steam game works. |
| Meta Quest 3S 128GB | Meta’s Quest 3S launch description identifies a headset for virtual and mixed reality, a different purchase from a TV console or handheld PC. Check the recipient’s wanted apps, account and age requirements, headset fit and usable space. Historical launch bundles do not establish today’s included games. |
For a gift, agree the platform first. A more expensive console on another platform may still miss the person’s existing games or friends. Check each game’s cross-platform support separately; this table does not establish shared multiplayer access.
For Switch generations, game formats and reusable accessories, see the Nintendo Switch Boxing Day guide. The PS5 guide and Xbox guide compare each console’s disc and all-digital models, storage and subscriptions.
Check digital codes before paying
PlayStation’s UK voucher restrictions, checked on 27 September 2026, require a code to match the account’s region. A voucher is single-use, and redeemed funds or content cannot be transferred between accounts. Some subscription vouchers need a payment method on the account.
Check the equivalent platform rules for an Xbox, Nintendo or PC code. A low advertised price is not enough if the code is for the wrong region, requires a different account status or represents an add-on instead of the game. No third-party code seller is certified or ranked as cheapest by this guide.
Value bundles using useful extras
Write down the actual standalone prices of the console and the included items you would otherwise buy. Compare that total with the bundle and delivery charge. Give an unwanted game or accessory no assumed value in your personal comparison.
For a subscription, check the renewal arrangement and the content or multiplayer features you need. A discounted first period is not the same as a fixed cost for as long as you own the console.
Retailers and the 2026 timetable
Compare the identical package at Currys, Argos, Amazon or the platform’s own store when it is listed. Check seller, delivery, return and guarantee conditions separately. No 2026 midnight launch, Prime early-access window or national shop schedule is established here.
Argos: This guide has not verified a 2026 launch or national Boxing Day shop schedule. Check the product’s available delivery or collection option and wait for confirmation before travelling.
The shopping guide explains how to keep a dated price record. Use the real promotion’s terms and availability rather than assuming that a game’s release year predicts its Boxing Day discount.
Frequently asked questions
Are gaming deals better at Boxing Day or Black Friday? Neither event is a verified winner here. Compare the same console, storage, game edition and accessories at the actual total price. A larger bundle is only better value if its extras are useful to you.
Where is the best place to buy games on Boxing Day? Compare the exact game edition and platform at the official store and any retailer you are considering. For a code, check account region, activation rules, seller and refund conditions before buying. No cheapest seller is established here.
Which retailer is best for gaming hardware at Boxing Day? Use the exact hardware and bundle contents to compare retailers, including delivery, collection, returns and guarantee. This guide has no verified 2026 retailer ranking or stock forecast.
Are Boxing Day gaming deals new price records, or discounts from inflated pre-Christmas prices? A discount label alone cannot establish a record low or an inflated reference price. Compare a reliable earlier selling price for the same item and bundle; value extras using their actual standalone prices.
Is it worth waiting until the January sales if I miss Boxing Day gaming deals? Check the offer’s stated end date and availability. This guide does not establish that a game sale extends into January or that a console bundle sells out on a fixed schedule. Recheck the complete package if you wait.
